Product Details

  • The CR922 A load bank is an outdoor unit designed for portable use to specific test sites. Once on site, load bank easily off loads from the truck using telescoping leg extensions and struts.
  • The CR922 A load bank is designed to absorb a balanced resistive load at a unity power factor. The total load capacity of the load bank is 5 MW, 13,800V, 3-phase, 60 Hz and 4 MW, 4160V, 3-phase, 60 Hz. The unit will operate at lower voltages with standard voltage derating.
  • The frame is fabricated using heavy gauge hot-rolled steel, welded together, making a rigid weatherproof structure.
  • The CR922 A operates from an external 480V, 3-phase, 60 Hz power source. The CR922 A requires 200 amps per unit; two CR922 A load banks can be powered from one 400 amp source.

  • The K595 is a 55.5 kW, 240/480 volt, 3-phase, 60 Hz load bank. The K595 is a wye-connected unit. This makes it more versatile as it can also be used for testing 120 volt, single-phase, power sources up to 41.6 kW.
  • This unit is engineered for fast and accurate testing. It is equipped with a large, easy to read analog voltmeter and ammeter. Load connections are made quickly and easily at the bus bars located behind the access door on the front of the unit.
  • The K595 incorporates industrial type contactors for application and removal of loads. They are positioned in an area that is isolated from the high heat generated by the resistive elements for improved reliability.
  • Load elements used in the K595 are made of a corrosion resistant material and are specially wound to support their full length for long and reliable operation. The load elements are engineered to operate at one half (or less) of their temperature rating, which is the main reason why a “cool-down” period is not required after load bank operation.

  • The K490 is a lightweight, portable AC resistive load bank designed for indoor use. It is contained in a small: 18” L x 13” W x 11” H enclosure. The K490 is ideal for testing small generator sets and UPS units.
  • The loads can be flexibly applied for a total of 10 kW at 120 or 240 VAC, single-phase.
  • The K490 resistive load elements are at the core of the load bank system. To ensure years of reliable operation, the elements in the K490 operate
at only 1/3 (or less) of their maximum temperature rating, eliminating
the need for a “cool-down” period after operation. The load bank also includes over-temperature protection.
  • The K490 is simple to use. It does not require tools. Electrical connec- tions are made on the front of the unit using hand-tightened terminals. Banana jacks are standard for connecting hand-held multi-meters. The multi-meter allows voltage, current, or frequency monitoring.

  • ComRent, through collaboration with the data-center industry, has created a server simulating Load Bank that models real- world scenarios, confirms air-flow computational fluid dynamics modeling and maximizes power utilization effectiveness (PUE).
  • Variable controls provide for granular airflow, Delta-T and deferential pressure compensation at various altitudes. This allows the operator to fine-tune the load bank, as to mimic the server it is modeling and match the environmental conditions.
  • Data-centers are built to maintain a 2N (A/B) utility grid redundancy and the CRLS load bank was designed to facilitate that network design. The Load Bank has three load steps per channel, and allows for seven various load combinations, providing for a fine load step resolution.
